My spooky trees water color painting depicts a sunrise through the forest. I used complimentary colors for a lighter value. I also learned how to paint from the background first, using light colors to the foreground. My main art elements include color and value. For design elements I used proportion and scale to illustrate the trees in the distance. This is important because it shows the feeling of a peaceful moment, as well as the dreamy composition.

This dreamtime painting made with a acrylics, depicts the emotion I feel after I wake up from a dream. Iused abstract dream images to create the emotion of having hundreds of thoughts rush to my head only to be forgotten and lost once I wake up. I used complimentary colors to make a meaningful composition, filling all of the blank spaces. I learned to make every mark intentional adding more significance to the piece overall. By using the design elements of movement and pattern I am able to tell a story through my painting. The use of color and shape were two very prominent art elemnts within my piece as well. This is important because through all these skills, art and design elements I am able to capture the feeling of not being able to remember a dream. I found this ironic that the type of art itself is dreamtime and my painting is describing the sensation after a dream.
In my block print I used a finalized, carved block and various ink colors including red, purple, pink and black to create a picture. I made a rose to express many different layers using only accuarte big shapes. Another technique I learned consisted of using the back of the block to depict white elments in the picture, or in other words negative space. The variation in carvings created a sense of value. Additionally, color is another main art element present because it brings out the true shape of the rose. This is important because it proves that anything can be illustrated using only big shapes once a piece of art is simplified down to the basics.
