My one-point perspective drawing looks like a firwork bursting in the sky, full of different shapes and dimensions. I used only a pencil and ruler to make the allusion of different depths and angles. I learned how to connect everything to the vanishing point and start off on the horizion line and draw from there. This drawing shows the importance of value. Without out the different shades of pencil one wouldn't know the difference between what objects are closer or further away. This artwork symbolizes how important it is to be different because without the heart addded as a shape, the picture as a whole would be boring. Being unique adds a spark to everyday life.

My artwork of Parallelograms creates the image of overlapping and divergent dimensions. I only used parallel lines at different angles and shades to add contrast and value to my piece. I learned how important it is to make use of white space (negative space) as well as value (using differnt shades). This drawing is a motif of the illusions in life and how things are not always as they seem. Some of the parallelograms don't even close all the way, just as we don't always finish what we start or know all the answers.
My art work is a combination of straight lines at an angle to create a curve. In this piece of work I utilized negative space to have the same effect as filled space. I also learned the concept of a motif. In this particular drawing the motif is the straight lines turning into swirls or curves. Smaller shapes then connect and combine to form a bigger overall picture. The main focus of my work is the hexagon in the middle, in which I used very tightly spaced lines to create a drastic effect. I also noticed that even straight lines can produce the illusion of movement. This project is meaningful to me because it is my very first piece and I learned to keep an open mind and explore new options. |
